Privacy Policy

Short version: FlipIQ collects only what it needs to run the service — your name, email, and avatar from Google, and the items you choose to save. We do not sell your data. You can request deletion at any time.
1. Who we are
FlipIQ ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-powered listing tool for UK resellers, accessible at flipiq.co.uk. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at hello@flipiq.co.uk.
2. Data we collect
We collect the minimum data required to provide the service:
- Account data (via Google Sign-In): your name, email address, and profile picture URL. We do not receive or store your Google password.
- Stock inventory data: item titles, descriptions, prices, photos, and notes you choose to save inside the app.
- Subscription & billing data: your Stripe customer ID and subscription status. Full payment card details are handled entirely by Stripe and never touch our servers.
- Usage data: a count of AI scans used per month, used solely to enforce your plan's scan limit.
- Images submitted for scanning: photos you upload to the AI scan feature are sent to Anthropic's API for processing and are not stored by FlipIQ after the response is returned.
3. How we use your data
We use your data only to provide and improve FlipIQ:
- Authenticate your account and maintain your session.
- Display your stock inventory and profit statistics.
- Process subscription payments via Stripe.
- Enforce plan limits (free scan count, monthly Pro quota).
- Monitor application errors (via Sentry) to fix bugs. Error reports may include your user ID but not personal content.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to operating FlipIQ.
4. Third-party services
FlipIQ uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Google OAuth 2.0 — for sign-in. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Anthropic Claude API — processes images and text to generate listings. Images are transmitted to Anthropic's servers and subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
- Stripe — handles all payment processing. Card details never reach FlipIQ servers. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Sentry — error monitoring. May capture anonymised crash reports. Subject to Sentry's Privacy Policy.
- Open Library, Open Food Facts, UPC Item DB — public barcode lookup databases. Barcode numbers are sent to these services when you use the barcode scan feature; no personal data is transmitted.
5. Data retention
We retain your account and inventory data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will permanently delete all data associated with your account within 30 days.
Stripe retains billing records as required by financial regulations, independent of any deletion request to FlipIQ.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure — request that we delete your account and all associated data.
- Portability — export your stock inventory as a CSV at any time from the app settings.
- Object — object to any processing you believe is not justified.

7. Cookies & sessions
FlipIQ uses a single HTTP-only, secure cookie (flipiq_session) to keep you signed in. This cookie contains a signed authentication token and expires after 30 days. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
8. Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Authentication tokens are signed with a server-side secret. Your database records are stored on a managed PostgreSQL instance with access controls. We do not store passwords — login is handled entirely via Google OAuth.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of FlipIQ after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
